Last you heard must have been 25-30 years ago. They deserve more than what they are getting. This time though, I'm in full support of their strike. We couldn't get rid of the people who needed fired. ![]() I'm not usually a UAW fan, I was a former member of all places in a prison.go figure. You always ask for more than you're willing to settle for and you never accept the first offer. And you've never had to bargain for your living. Oh.and if any of you believe what the UAW is asking for and what the big 3 has offered is what their line in the sand is then you're either ignorant or you've never had to bargain before. Some how the UAW isn't expected to ask for what they believe is their slice of the pie? The big 3 now have record profits and has not given the workers back their concessions and in the mean time has managed to give the execs record raises. UAW workers gave concessions to the big 3 during the great recession with the promise of getting them back once the big 3 got back on their feet. I bet if you guys worked there you'd be saying differently. Last I saw was something around 10k on a Tahoe and the equivalents. Frankly a lot of the expense is the margins the manufacturers are making on large trucks and suvs. Or we could get rid of café standards so manufactures could make cars people can afford to buy instead of over priced cars because they need to ge 35 mpg and survivea NHTSA test. ![]() Maybe we could afford gas too if the UAW used it's political power to push for cheaper oil instead of electric bullshit and we wouldn't be so concerned with an extra 2 mpg. Which might add a thousand bucks to the price of a 90s vehicle. 15 airbags so you don't die in your aluminum popcan and 35 computers in your car to drag out an extra 2 mpg does though.Ībout the only thing people might really demand beyond air conditioning and power windows is maybe a gps navigation system. Power windows don't add 30k to the sticker dude. ![]() Like the mythical basic fleet model crank windows diesel truck that morons in GD flap their gums about but wouldn't ever actually go buy. Start making simpler 90s-early 2000s type vehicles people can afford to buy and maintain. If they want my support they should use their political power to stop all these fucking government mandates that drove car prices through the fucking roof. All the parts for my old cars are made in Japan.
